Mocambo Live Plants (White Cacao) (Theobroma Bicolor)

Mocambo, alternatively referred to as White Cacao or Theobroma Bicolor, is a rapidly growing, slender evergreen tree with an elegantly narrow crown. This species finds its natural habitat in the heart of South America, specifically in countries like Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and extending northward to Panama and Mexico. Its fruit, a delightful offering, can be savored in its raw form, boasting a sweet, subacid flavor that pleases the palate. These seeds also contain stimulant alkaloids such as caffeine and theobromine, along with a volatile oil. Remarkably, this particular species' seeds are a bountiful source of cacao butter, despite their relatively low levels of theobromine.

Known by various common names, including Jaguar Tree, Mocambo Tree, Balamte, and White Cacao, its botanical identity remains White Cacao, or Theobroma Bicolor. Typically, these trees embark on their journey of blooming and bearing fruit within a reasonably short span of 3 to 4 years.
