The Cashew Plant, scientifically referred to as Anacardium Occidentale, is a perennial shrub or compact tree with an expansive crown that hails from Brazil and is naturally found in the Caatinga, Cerrados, and Amazonian Biomes. It belongs to the Anacardiaceae family.

The Cashew Apple is a fruit that ranges in color from light reddish to yellow, and its pulp and juice can be transformed into a sweet, slightly astringent beverage or can be fermented and distilled into liquor.

In most fruits, the seeds develop within the flesh, but in the case of the cashew, the seed dangles from the underside of the cashew apple, which is essentially a swollen stem. Cashews possess a flavorful nuttiness akin to almonds or peanuts.

It is commonly known by various names, including Cashew Nut, Cashew, Jagus, Gandaria, Gajus, and Janggus. The botanical name is Anacardium Occidentale. This plant typically starts flowering and bearing fruit within 3 to 5 years, with a moderate level of maintenance required.
